This event is for new and aspiring authors who would like to learn the art of writing a children's book.  There will be multiple sessions during the week of November 15th through 19th at 8-9:30pm Eastern.  

Session 1 Ready…set…begin

• You have an idea. Now what?
• Turn an idea into an outline
• The parts of a story: Understanding the story arc

Session 2 The language of writing

• Set the tone for your story
• Choose words that create colorful imagery
• Write meaningful dialogue
• Write an inviting opening

Session 3 Important story elements

• Create compelling characters
• Choose past tense or present tense
• Decide on a narrator
• Write exciting nonfiction books

Session 4 How to write a rhyming story

• To rhyme or not to rhyme?
• Understand rhyme scheme
• Understand meter: Get the Beat!
• Be mindful of the pitfalls

Cost:  The workshop is FREE, but attendees are required to purchase a copy of the book by Bobbie Hinman: How to Master the Art of Writing a Children's Book.  

The new book by Bobbie Hinman is releasing just prior to the event.  Attendees will also have the option to have their book critiqued by Bobbie (limited slots will be available) in order to prepare their book for editing.
